Grey Chair began in 2023 as Grey Chair Rentals, a Cincinnati-area real estate side project. Day-to-day work in this market drove home a truth we still operate on: customers decide on their phones, trust what they can verify, and move on if a site is slow, vague, or hard to use.
Co-founders Brendan Cohen and Will Scheffter first met as students at the University of Cincinnati, through their business fraternity, long before Grey Chair turned into a studio. That shared foundation is still how we run projects.
We watched Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and suburban businesses get priced out of serious web help or stuck on DIY platforms that capped speed and lead capture. That gap is why Grey Chair Rentals became Grey Chair Digital, a web and automation studio rooted in the same region we live and work in.
Today we build performance-minded websites and practical automations for specialty shops from our home base in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Many projects run fully remote. When a local kickoff in Hamilton County, Clermont County, Warren County, or Northern Kentucky helps, we make time for it.

Brendan Cohen is co-founder and lead developer, with a background in web development, SEO-aware structure, and automation that fits how owner-led teams actually work. Will Scheffter is co-founder and leads business development. His finance background shapes how we talk about budget, ROI, and sequencing so a project stays realistic from the first call to launch.
